Role of CBD

CBD, one of the most well-known cannabinoids, is a non-psychoactive compound found in cannabis. Its non-psychoactive properties allow patients to experience the medicinal benefits of cannabis without feeling “high”.

Recreational smokers might not prefer products higher in CBD, but this “high-less” byproduct of cannabis allows patients suffering from chronic pain & diseases a way to reap the medicinal benefits of cannabis while also keeping a grasp on their senses.

CBD first came to public attention when CNN put out a documentary called “WEED”. This documentary told the story of Charlotte, a 5-year-old girl in Colorado, who was experiencing 300 Grand Mal seizures a week. When Charlotte was given CBD oil, her seizures stopped almost completely. In her honor, a high CBD cannabis strain was named Charlotte’s Web.

We grow different variations of Charlotte’s Web that doesn’t seek to eliminate THC, but rather increase the ratio of CBD: THC. This allows us to provide our patients with more than just products with high THC levels.

CBD can be used to treat anxiety, substance abuse, chronic pain, seizures, central nervous system diseases, joint pain, PTSD, insomnia, moodiness (and many other symptoms) without impeding on one’s ability to socialize and feel comfortable.

CBD provides the mental & physical benefits of cannabis without the giggles, couch-lock, or paranoia that keeps so many people from consuming cannabis. It is perfect for those who want to dip their toes into the wellness benefits of cannabis, but do not want to “get stoned”.

CBD can be consumed in many different ways and works to target proteins in the brain that regulate cell activities. As an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound, it benefits the immune system and bones within the body.

Combining CBD with THC can produce an “entourage effect”, which means there is a stronger influence when used together. The non-psychoactive component, CBD, modulates the psychoactive component, THC to provide a therapeutic experience. For this reason, all of our cartridges high in THC also contain at least 4% of CBD. This allows us to deliver patients more of a whole-plant medicine approach and enhances the entourage effect.
